Overview In this Senior Construction Project Manager role at Wates Group, you lead large-scale construction projects from pre-construction to handover, driving safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You manage multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to meet performance targets and client satisfaction. The position focuses on delivering social value and sustainable outcomes for communities, while promoting collaborative working with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. You will shape project strategies and maintain programme certainty to support the company’s objectives.
Responsibilities - Lead planning, execution and delivery of complex construction projects (from ~20m+ value)
- Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with business goals
- Ensure safety, programme, budget, and quality commitments are met
- Monitor progress, manage risks and opportunities, and drive project controls
- Act as principal client/stakeholder contact; chair meetings and report progress
- Collaborate with Commercial Managers and QS to oversee financial performance and change control
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing; ensure compliance and incident investigations
- Lead and develop project teams; foster high-performance, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Drive sustainability, innovation, and modern delivery methods; support social value targets
