About the Role
Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is searching for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of key business systems. This role is situated in
Reading, Berkshire, UK , and offers a hybrid working model, allowing for a mix of office-based and remote work. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring successful deployment of business-critical software and systems. This includes defining project scope, managing resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely delivery within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of business processes and IT solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor IT projects related to business systems implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage project budgets and control costs effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including internal staff, external consultants, and vendors.
- Communicate project status, updates, and key decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure the quality of project deliverables and adherence to technical specifications and business requirements.
- Manage change requests and assess their impact on project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
- Facilitate user training and adoption of newly implemented systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, with a focus on business systems implementation (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing project budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office and remote responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
- Familiarity with business analysis and requirements gathering techniques.
