About the Role
Our client is a leading technology consultancy specializing in cloud solutions, seeking a seasoned Lead Project Manager to spearhead complex cloud migration projects entirely remotely. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale cloud migration initiatives, working with enterprise clients to seamlessly transition their IT infrastructure to leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud technologies, agile methodologies, and managing distributed teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring successful, secure, and efficient migrations that drive significant business value for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of cloud migration projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Develop detailed migration strategies, project plans, and roadmaps, encompassing assessment, planning, execution, and optimization phases.
- Oversee the execution of migration tasks, including data transfer, application re-platforming, and infrastructure setup on cloud environments.
- Manage and mentor geographically dispersed project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance through virtual communication tools.
- Identify, assess, and actively manage project risks, dependencies, and issues, implementing mitigation strategies proactively.
- Establish and maintain clear, consistent communication channels with clients and internal stakeholders through regular reporting and virtual meetings.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements throughout the migration process.
- Manage cloud vendor relationships and coordinate with technical specialists and architects to ensure technical integrity.
- Conduct post-migration reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Cloud Certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on cloud computing and infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex cloud migration projects (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and data management principles.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional remote leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
