About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Project Manager to lead an exciting cloud migration initiative. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the UK. The primary focus of this role will be to manage the transition of existing on-premises systems to cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure . You will be responsible for the end-to-end project lifecycle, from planning and strategy development to execution and post-migration support. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, project management best practices, and the ability to effectively manage technical teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of successfully delivering complex cloud transformation projects. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape our client's cloud strategy and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of cloud migration projects (AWS, Azure).
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with cloud engineers, architects, developers, and operations teams to ensure seamless migration.
- Manage stakeholder communication, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Oversee the procurement and management of cloud services and associated vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and data governance policies in the cloud environment.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies and promote a collaborative team environment.
- Conduct post-migration reviews and ensure successful handover to operational teams.
- Identify and drive opportunities for cloud optimization and cost management.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years specifically managing cloud-based projects.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including migration strategies.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security best practices.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals) are highly desirable.
- Experience managing hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
