About the Role
Our client, a prominent developer and contractor known for delivering high-quality residential and commercial properties, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Project Manager to join their remote operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of significant construction projects from initiation to completion, all while enjoying the benefits of a fully remote work environment. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects on time and within budget, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to all quality and safety standards. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the success of new developments in and around the Milton Keynes area, managed entirely remotely by our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and budgeting to execution and final handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project budgets effectively, tracking expenditures and implementing cost-control measures to ensure profitability.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and external consultants, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, health and safety legislation, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and managing expectations.
- Procure materials and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating favourable terms.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns.
- Conduct regular site reviews (virtually and, where necessary, with travel) and progress assessments.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and financial performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a significant track record of managing projects of substantial value and complexity.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering projects in the Milton Keynes region or similar competitive markets.
- Expert knowledge of construction methodologies, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), and financial management.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maximise project profitability.
- Thorough understanding of UK construction law, health and safety regulations, and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency in standard office software and project management platforms.
- Must be comfortable and effective working in a fully remote capacity, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management.
