About the Role
Our client, a leading energy services provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee critical projects within the
Aberdeen, Scotland, UK region. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure financial targets are met.
- Coordinate and direct the efforts of project teams, including engineers, technical specialists, and support staff.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and external partners, providing regular progress updates and reports.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Ensure all projects comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting best practices in project management and continuous improvement.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant portion in the oil and gas or energy sector.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding £5 million.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate challenging project environments.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK or similar industrial hubs is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote work with on-site collaboration.
