Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data and analytics projects, including data warehousing, BI implementations, and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within financial constraints.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential challenges that could impact delivery.
- Oversee data governance and quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and ensure that technical solutions align with business needs.
- Manage vendor relationships for any third-party data or analytics tools and services.
- Communicate project status, key milestones, and critical issues to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure that all data projects comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Drive adoption of data-driven insights and solutions across the organisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a specific focus on data, analytics, or business intelligence projects.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies is a plus.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects from initiation to closure.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholders with varying technical and business backgrounds.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Prior experience within the financial services sector in Leeds is advantageous.
