About the Role
Our client, a dynamic technology company specialising in bespoke software solutions, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee software engineering projects in
Sheffield . This role requires a motivated individual with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and team leadership. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept through to successful deployment, ensuring high-quality deliverables, timely execution, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a proven ability to manage complex software development initiatives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of software development projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-launch support.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget, using appropriate project management tools.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional software development teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to define project requirements and manage evolving priorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Monitor project progress, performance, and quality, providing regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Manage client communications and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement within the development team and project processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within software development environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience managing projects using these frameworks.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and common technologies and platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage technical teams and complex software projects effectively.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an office-based setting in Sheffield .
- Experience in client-facing roles and managing external stakeholder expectations is a plus.
