About the Role
Our client, a leading civil engineering firm renowned for its work on major infrastructure projects, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join their team in **Plymouth, Devon, UK**. You will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle, from initial planning and design coordination to execution, budget management, and client liaison. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, design, and construction phases of civil engineering infrastructure projects.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial control and maximizing profitability.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Manage and coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings to monitor performance.
- Resolve technical and logistical issues that may arise during project execution.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, including progress updates and financial summaries.
- Ensure the successful handover of projects to clients upon completion.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing civil engineering infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience with projects such as road construction, bridge building, or utility networks.
- Strong understanding of contract management (e.g., NEC, FIDIC) and procurement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and CAD software knowledge.
- Experience in the **UK** civil engineering sector is essential.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in **Plymouth, Devon, UK**.
