About the Role
Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Lead Project Manager to spearhead critical supply chain optimization initiatives for a prominent automotive manufacturer based in **Coventry, West Midlands, UK**. This senior position involves overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring seamless integration of new processes, and driving efficiency improvements across the entire supply chain network. The successful candidate will be a natural leader, adept at navigating complex operational environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, logistics, and inventory management within the automotive industry. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our client's competitive edge through strategic project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic supply chain projects, from concept to completion.
- Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and timelines.
- Develop and implement robust project management frameworks and best practices.
- Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies for all assigned projects.
- Collaborate closely with operations, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure project success.
- Monitor project performance, identifying and addressing deviations from the plan.
- Communicate project status, outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain through effective project management.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and project coordinators.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a strong focus on supply chain or operations within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain principles, lean manufacturing, and logistics.
- Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and ERP systems.
- Ability to work full-time from our **Coventry** office.
