About the Role
Our client, a leading organisation in the industrial sector based in
Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead critical cybersecurity initiatives. This role is essential for safeguarding the company's digital assets and ensuring compliance with stringent security standards. You will be responsible for managing projects related to threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and the implementation of robust security protocols across the organisation's IT and OT environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep cybersecurity knowledge, exceptional project leadership, and a proven ability to manage complex, high-stakes projects in a demanding operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of cybersecurity projects across the organisation.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with security strategy.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity technologies and solutions.
- Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for cybersecurity threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data protection laws.
- Coordinate with internal IT, security teams, and external vendors.
- Manage stakeholder communications, providing clear and timely updates on project progress and security posture.
- Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned to enhance future security projects.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Project Manager, with a specialised focus on cybersecurity projects.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and mitigation strategies (e.g., network security, endpoint security, cloud security).
- Proven track record of delivering complex security initiatives on time and within budget.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP are highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and cybersecurity-related tools.
- Ability to manage projects in a complex industrial or critical infrastructure environment.
