About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Project Manager to lead critical initiatives within their dynamic organisation based in Aberdeen . You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage diverse stakeholder groups, mitigate risks, and drive successful project outcomes that align with the company's overarching business objectives. You will play a key role in shaping project methodologies and fostering a culture of excellence in project delivery across the Aberdeen region.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for multiple concurrent projects.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve agreed outputs, and perform risk and issue management, actively seeking solutions.
- Monitor project progress, conduct regular status meetings, and provide comprehensive reports to stakeholders on project status and performance metrics.
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, with at least 7 years of experience in project management.
- Demonstrable experience in the oil and gas or a related energy sector industry is highly advantageous for this Aberdeen -based role.
- Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Relevant professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
