About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead pivotal projects within the dynamic Energy Sector in Aberdeen . You will be instrumental in guiding complex projects from conception through to successful completion, ensuring they meet strategic objectives, timelines, and budgets. This role demands a proactive leader who can navigate the intricacies of the oil and gas industry, fostering collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing large-scale projects and a deep understanding of the operational and regulatory landscape unique to the Scottish energy market, contributing significantly to the client's ongoing success and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of major projects , from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and adherence to project goals.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues to senior management and clients.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements specific to the Aberdeen energy hub.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in Project Management , with a significant portion within the Energy Sector (Oil & Gas preferred).
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding £5 million.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
