About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join their technology division in Reading . This role is pivotal in leading and managing complex, strategic IT projects that drive business transformation and technological innovation. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from defining project scope and objectives to ensuring successful implementation and post-project review, managing budgets, resources, and risks effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills to guide diverse teams and engage with senior stakeholders, ensuring seamless technology integration and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale IT projects , including system implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and software development initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, technical requirements, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Oversee IT project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and third-party vendors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Ensure projects adhere to IT governance, security policies, and industry best practices.
- Communicate project status, key milestones, and potential challenges to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in IT project management , with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies and their application in IT environments.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL are highly desirable.
