About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Solar Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar energy projects in and around Portsmouth . This role is pivotal in managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and site selection through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The hybrid nature of this role allows for essential on-site project oversight while maintaining flexibility for strategic planning and reporting. This is a significant opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of solar project development, including site assessment, permitting, design, procurement, and construction.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a significant focus on solar energy projects .
- Proven track record of successfully delivering solar projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of solar technology, grid interconnection processes, and project finance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with experience managing diverse project teams.
