Overview In this role you manage and deliver complex rail and infrastructure projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality targets are met. You lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients to drive safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes aligned with SYSTRA’s standards. You’ll apply formal project controls, risk management and contractual governance while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The role offers hands-on leadership across governance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement within a renowned transport solutions provider.
Responsibilities - Lead day-to-day management and delivery of projects ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality targets are met
- Prepare and follow Project Execution Plans and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and SYSTRA processes
- Apply robust change and resource management and resolve conflicts
- Monitor and report project performance, budgets, forecasts, cash flow and billing
- Lead internal and external project meetings and maintain clear client and team communication
- Identify and resolve delivery issues, escalate risks as needed
- Enforce safety, environmental and CDM regulations
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, respect and empowerment across teams
Key requirements - APM chartership or willingness to pursue
- NEC4 PM Accreditation or willingness to pursue

- risk and issue management, finance, contract and cost control knowledge
- understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile); portfolio management

- familiarity with rail/infrastructure safety and regulatory requirements
- experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and matrix management
- track record in resource coordination, forecasting, and change management
- APM membership or equivalent experience
- ongoing CPD and willingness to upskill
- proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), SharePoint, Projectwise and project management software
