Overview In this role you will lead a high-profile ES3 Sheffield Station project within the Northern Powerhouse Rail framework, guiding a cross-functional PM team across the North. You will ensure delivery is on time, on budget and to robust safety and technical standards. The position combines strategic influence with hands-on project leadership across clients and suppliers, contributing to Amey’s railway portfolio. A strong focus on commercial success and cross-team collaboration will shape the Sheffield Programme over a five-year framework.

Responsibilities - Lead delivery of the ES3 Sheffield Station project within a multidisciplinary setup
- Act as PM team leader, guiding project management teams, operations managers, clients and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and client requirements
- Control budgets and manage costs for deliverables to secure commercial success
- Oversee junior staff and coordinate actions of team members
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer and senior levels, presenting proposals
- Attend progress meetings and respond to queries across the portfolio
- Assume people management duties as required by the business
- Drive effective health and safety practices within the team
Key requirements - Developed experience in Project Management
- Experience with health, safety and welfare management (Integrated Management System, CDM Regulations)
- Apply PM theory to complex or ambiguous situations
- Act as day-to-day PM contact for a project when needed
- Prepare and check deliverables to a standard
- Proficient with project management software/tools and capable of validating new tools
- Strong commercial awareness
- Excellent knowledge of suppliers and their services
- Excellent oral communicator, capable of client and internal presentations and training
- Strong Health, Safety and Welfare understanding and regulation knowledge
- Professional status: Incorporated/Chartered or equivalent (ChPP preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate subject
- Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status or equivalent
