Overview

As Project Manager in Fareham, you will own commercial, contractual and technical delivery for a portfolio of automation projects. You will interface between clients, engineering teams, and commercial leads to ensure safe, on-time delivery and profitability. You’ll manage budgets, variations, and contract administration under NEC3/4, IChemE. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams across PLC/SCADA, panel manufacture, and E&I installation, while upholding HSE standards. This role offers impact in a global engineering leader delivering industrial automation solutions.

Responsibilities

Drive project financial performance to meet budget targets and manage procurement and cash flow
Actively manage change, capture scope variations and convert into costed savings
Administer contracts per terms (NEC3/4, IChemE) and manage sub-contractors
Lead cross-functional teams across Automation, Functional Safety, Panel Manufacture, and E&I Installation
Optimize resource scheduling with project controls to maximise utilisation and velocity
Ensure technical governance by aligning solutions with client specs and benchmarks
Lead safety and compliance efforts with the HSE teams
Interface with clients as primary technical and commercial point of contact to manage expectations and opportunities

Key requirements

Minimum 5 years of project delivery experience in engineering and automation
Proven experience in Water/Utilities sector; additional sectors desirable (Nuclear, Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Food & Beverage, Chemical)
Experience administering NEC3/4, IChemE or similar contracts; familiarity with CDM 2015
Direct experience leading multidisciplinary teams across PLC/SCADA, panel manufacture and site installation
Working knowledge of MS Project, Primavera P6, and SAP
Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (desirable)
APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification (desirable)
Membership in APM, IET, or equivalent professional body
