Overview In this role you will lead the development and delivery of high voltage projects from design through energisation. You will work within the UK Transmission and Distribution team to manage HV schemes up to 20kV initially, with opportunities to interface on 33kV–400kV connections. You’ll coordinate internal resources and external service providers, ensuring safe, on-time, and cost-effective outcomes. You will also take on CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer responsibilities for HV projects, shaping solutions for substations and related infrastructure. Responsibilities - Develop HV projects from initial requirements to compliant engineering solutions
- Project manage development and delivery of small/medium HV projects (cable, plant, civil) to time, cost, safety and quality
- Interface with customers and internal/external resources to deliver HV projects
- Undertake CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer roles for developed HV projects
- Communicate effectively with internal engineering and industrial resources
- Coordinate external service providers and manage commercial aspects
Key requirements - HNC in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working on HV substation projects
- Understanding of electrical distribution plant items operations, controls and associated systems (switchgear, protection, power transformers, underground power cables)
- Good understanding of H&S and CDM requirements for projects
- Ability to undertake the Designer and/or Principal Designer role under CDM regulations
- Ability to interpret technical documentation relating to substation design
