Overview In this role you lead site-wide capital and improvement projects, guiding end-to-end delivery from concept to handover. You will develop a rolling 3–5-year investment plan and partner with operations, QA, finance, NPD, and engineering to drive growth, cost reduction, and automation. You manage suppliers, budgets, risk, and compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, delivering projects on time, safely, and within budget. You shape strategy and provide structured recommendations to optimize scope, cost, and delivery.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end delivery of capital and improvement projects (concept to handover)
- Develop and maintain a 3–5-year Capital Investment Plan
- Manage supplier and contractor performance, tendering and commercial negotiations
- Forecast capital spend and provide ROI-based reporting
- Ensure CDM Regulations, health & safety, and governance compliance
- Lead project risk assessments across technical, financial, and operational risks
- Support engineering asset care and site improvement initiatives
- Coordinate live installations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Drive continuous improvement projects with CI teams
- Provide structured challenges and recommendations on scope, cost, and delivery strategy
Key requirements - Proven Project Management experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, pharma, or similar fast-paced environments
- Engineering background essential
- Experience delivering capital projects in live manufacturing environments
- Strong budget management, forecasting, ROI, and commercial project control
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and contractor management
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders
- Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Project Management qualifications desirable
- Degree or HND in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
