Overview In this NEC Project Manager role, you will lead infrastructure projects in Belfast, ensuring NEC contract compliance and timely, on-budget delivery. You’ll work with clients and stakeholders to capture requirements, integrate design and construction, and manage risks and performance through formal controls. Responsibilities - Understand NEC objectives and contracts (NEC3/4) and administer PSC and/or ECC agreements
- Lead project teams to deliver integrated, on-time, on-budget outcomes meeting industry standards
- Establish strong client and stakeholder relationships; capture user requirements and secure approvals
- Contribute to end-to-end execution planning and management; advise on procurement and contract strategies
- Provide cost/time estimates; support quality management, contractor reviews, and early warnings for delays
- Coordinate design, development, construction, commissioning, and handover with SMEs
- Report project performance using controls tools (earned value, risk analysis)
- Ensure testing, commissioning, and operation handover align with client requirements; conduct post-project reviews
- Adhere to SOX controls where applicable; uphold project safety for all involved
- Oversee HRM activities (learning plans, competency development, mentoring) and recruitment inputs
- Support marketing/business development and cross-selling opportunities; assist bids for new work
- Manage internal processes: resource management, financial controls via FMS, and knowledge management
- Promote safety compliance and regulatory adherence
Key requirements - Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing large or multiple infrastructure/capital projects and teams
- Experience in project management and contract management with major forms (NEC3, NEC4, FIDIC or similar)
- Proven ability to implement and drive programmes and performance
- Experience mobilising and managing supply chains (design, planning, construction)
- Disciplined management approach and strong project controls skills
- Experience in complex stakeholder environments
- Chartered/qualified with APM, ICE, RICS, etc.
