Responsibilities - Manage highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception to completion
- Develop detailed project plans, programmes, budgets and resources
- Support feasibility studies, design development and implementation activities
- Prepare reports and briefings for senior officers and stakeholders
- Monitor progress with governance, risk management and reporting
- Engage proactively with communities, residents, businesses and stakeholders
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies
- Support procurement activities including scope creation, ITT, and evaluation
- Assist contract administration and maintain relationships with consultants and contractors
- Conduct research to inform decision-making and ensure compliance with legislation, policies and safety requirements
- Support continuous improvement in project management practices
Key requirements - Experience on highways, transport or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Understanding of highways and transport development processes
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and health and safety requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with internal teams, contractors, consultants and external partners
- Ability to analyse information and support informed decision-making
- Strong planning and organisational skills with multiple priorities
- Experience in contract, budget or procurement activities (advantageous)
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) and a project management qualification or equivalent experience
- Membership of CIHT, IHE, ICE or similar (advantageous)
