Overview As Senior Project Manager, you will lead major capital investment, construction and customer connection projects within the SP Manweb licence area, ensuring safe, on-time delivery within budget and quality standards. You’ll manage cross‑functional teams and key contracts, driving governance, risk and performance across the project lifecycle. This role sits at the heart of complex infrastructure delivery with a clear path for professional growth. You’ll contribute to Scotland’s energy ambitions and Net Zero goals.

Responsibilities - Lead multidisciplinary project teams spanning design, engineering, operations, commercial, finance, quality and environmental functions.
- Oversee commercial and contract management of appointed contractors and partners under NEC3/4, FIDIC, design-and-construct, and framework contracts.
- Maintain project governance: programme control, cost forecasting, risk & opportunity management, change control, reporting, assurance and escalation.
- Ensure delivery of outputs on time, within budget and to regulatory and technical standards; manage scope, objectives and decision-making routes.
- Conduct project reviews, capture lessons learned, and embed improvements across the portfolio.
- Represent SP Energy Networks in governance forums, stakeholder meetings and industry groups; possibly act on behalf of 132kV Project Unit Manager.
Key requirements - Degree in engineering, construction or project management or equivalent experience
- Significant experience managing complex construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in electricity transmission or regulated infrastructure
- Experience leading projects through construction, commissioning, handover and close-out
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and control disciplines
- Experience in programme management, cost forecasting, change control, risk and opportunity management, and performance reporting
- Experience of contract and commercial management (NEC, FIDIC, design-and-construct, framework or similar)
- Knowledge of procurement processes and governance
- Understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation for construction (CDM 2015)
- Quality assurance, inspection, testing and project assurance experience
- Ability to lead cross-organisational teams, strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to prepare reports and presentations for senior governance forums
