Overview In this role you will support delivering multi-disciplinary environmental projects within a collaborative PMO, working with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep work on schedule and within budget. You will gain breadth across a varied UK portfolio spanning public and private sectors, with opportunities to mentor and grow toward a Senior Environmental Project Manager role. Responsibilities - Support development of project proposals including scope, resourcing, programme and budget
- Create and maintain project documentation (plans, forecasts, risk registers, schedules)
- Monitor progress and drive delivery to meet timelines
- Manage day-to-day project costs and track budgets, forecasts and spend
- Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits and internal approvals
- Support contract management and administrative activities for compliance
- Proactively manage change and risk with technical teams to maintain scope and governance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate stakeholders and suppliers
- Champion environmental outcomes and support sustainability and net-zero ambitions
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, representing the Environment and Consents team
Key requirements - Experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in environmental or sustainability sectors
- Understanding of programme management principles and tools (MS Project, Primavera P6) and ability to interpret outputs
- Commercial awareness with budget management and change control experience
- Familiarity with Professional Services Contracts (e.g., NEC3/4) advantageous
- Confident written and verbal communicator, able to inform project teams and stakeholders
- Membership or progress toward professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS) welcomed
