Overview In this role you lead day-to-day delivery of construction and infrastructure projects within the North-West England region, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to meet time, budget, and quality targets. You will ensure governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement while promoting safety, innovation, and sustainability. This is a client-facing role that offers ownership of a project portfolio within a collaborative environment. You will work to support net-zero goals and project delivery excellence.
Responsibilities - Direct day-to-day project delivery from inception to completion
- Develop and maintain project plans, programmes, and delivery schedules
- Coordinate project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
- Monitor budgets, timelines, risks, and performance against milestones
- Support procurement activities and manage consultants/contractors
- Governance, reporting, change control, and documentation management
- Lead project meetings, record actions, and provide progress updates
- Perform regular site visits to verify safety and quality
- Identify risks/opportunities and implement mitigation strategies
- Manage supplier performance and ensure quality management throughout delivery
- Promote digital delivery, innovation, sustainability, and responsible practices
- Support industry transition to net zero through carbon-reduction efforts
Key requirements - Experience as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager in construction, infrastructure, engineering, or built environment
- Proven ability to manage small to medium-sized projects through the lifecycle
- Strong understanding of PM principles, methodologies, and controls
- Experience across design, procurement, and construction phases
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and programme management
- Experience monitoring budgets, schedules, and risks
- Proactive, solutions-focused problem solving
- Professional qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Membership of or progression toward accredited body (APM, CIOB, RICS, or ICE)
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, property, or consultancy
- Knowledge of contract administration, procurement, cost control, and project reporting
- CSCS card or equivalent where applicable
