Overview In this role you lead software engineering for modelling and software activities across key programmes. You’ll partner with Engineering Leads and external partners to ensure realistic resourcing and swift issue resolution. You drive plan development, milestones, and risk management to meet time, cost, and performance targets, while delivering bids and status updates. Responsibilities - Lead a dynamic Software Engineering team
- Deliver software to time, cost and performance budgets across projects
- Create clear engineering plans with milestones and risk interdependencies
- Adapt plans to mitigate cost, schedule, or performance risks
- Prepare and communicate monthly engineering status reports
- Coordinate engineering input into bids as part of business winning
- Line manage Software Engineers and System Modellers
Key requirements - Degree level in engineering or equivalent (essential)
- Significant experience leading software engineering teams including effective use of Jira in an Agile environment (essential)
- Strong understanding of the software engineering lifecycle on technically complex projects (essential)
- Experience with The MathWorks toolset including code generation (desirable)
- Defence industry experience (desirable)
- Security clearance requirements such as BPSS/NSV (may apply)
