Overview As Senior Project Manager for our strategic energy client, you will lead major electricity transmission initiatives from early development through delivery in a regulated environment. You’ll coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage time, cost and quality, and ensure HSE compliance across the lifecycle. This role blends client-facing leadership with hands-on delivery to unlock project value and drive safe, reliable outcomes. Responsibilities - Manage programme, budget and risks across the project lifecycle
- Provide regular updates on HSE performance, milestones, risks, opportunities and financials
- Develop early lifecycle activities including optioneering and consenting
- Oversee design stage reviews for SHESQ, risks, deliverability and safety performance
- Support tendering and contracting strategies; input to Scope, Site and Works Information
- Lead project delivery, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements
- Act as interface between project and internal/ external teams and stakeholders
- Coordinate contractors and delivery interfaces to meet time, cost and specification with minimal disruption
- Manage complex third-party issues, land, consents, and community stakeholders
- Chair monthly progress/cost reviews and attend weekly site meetings
- Lead, coach and develop team members; influence decisions and drive improvements
- Present clearly and communicate confidently to stakeholders
Key requirements - Experience in electrical infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of relevant legislation for complex projects
- Solid understanding of HS&E management systems and requirements
- Experience in environmental management and control
- Understanding of technical documentation
- Experience in management of NEC contracts in project delivery
- Knowledge of risk management for schedule and cost
