Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex Research & Development projects from inception to completion.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with R&D teams and stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring financial stewardship and optimal resource allocation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive strategies to overcome challenges inherent in R&D.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative project environment, leading and motivating cross-functional R&D teams.
- Ensure adherence to scientific protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication among project team members, research leads, and senior management.
- Track project progress against milestones and deliverables, providing regular status updates and performance reports.
- Manage external collaborations and partnerships relevant to R&D projects.
- Conduct post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned to enhance future R&D initiatives.
Requirements
- Significant experience in project management, with a proven track record in leading Research & Development projects, preferably within scientific or technology-driven fields.
- Strong understanding of R&D processes, methodologies, and challenges.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire technical and scientific teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, resources, and risks effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Experience in stakeholder management and reporting to senior leadership.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or technical field.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, contributing both remotely and on-site in Cambridge .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
