About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead Research and Development (R&D) projects within their cutting-edge facility in Cambridge . This role involves managing the full lifecycle of R&D initiatives, from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to prototyping and initial product development. You will foster a collaborative environment for scientists and engineers, ensuring projects stay on track and align with the company's long-term research strategy. This hybrid role balances focused work in our Cambridge labs with the flexibility of remote contributions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects , ensuring alignment with strategic innovation goals.
- Coordinate research teams, including scientists, engineers, and technicians, to achieve project objectives and milestones.
- Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, resource requirements, timelines, and budgets for novel research endeavors.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks and challenges inherent in research and development activities.
- Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among project team members and stakeholders, including R&D leadership.
- Ensure thorough documentation of research findings, experimental results, and project progress for intellectual property and future development in Cambridge .
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager , with a strong background in managing Research and Development or technically complex projects.
- Understanding of scientific research processes, experimental design, and product development lifecycles.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at managing technical teams in a hybrid setting .
- Experience with project management software and tools relevant to R&D environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
