About the Role
Our client, a leader in providing essential services, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Project Manager to join their fully remote workforce. This senior role is pivotal in overseeing the planning and execution of significant infrastructure projects across the UK. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from conception and feasibility studies through to implementation and handover, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring strategic alignment and delivery excellence.
- Manage complex project plans, including scope definition, budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Oversee risk assessment and management, developing robust mitigation strategies for infrastructure projects.
- Direct and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within a remote setting.
- Engage with and manage key stakeholders, including government bodies, suppliers, and internal teams, providing clear and concise updates.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management practices and infrastructure delivery.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and inform future projects in Sunderland .
Requirements
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex, high-value projects in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure development lifecycles, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard project management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setup.
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; chartered status (e.g., CEng, CIOB) is highly advantageous.
