About the Role
Our client, a well-established property development firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee significant construction and development projects across the Wolverhampton region. This demanding role requires a leader with a deep understanding of the construction lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion. You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder relationships to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in construction project management and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of construction and development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and financial forecasts.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Manage stakeholder communication, providing regular updates to clients, senior management, and relevant authorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing effective contingency plans.
- Approve project milestones, authorize payments, and manage contract administration.
- Conduct site inspections and progress reviews, ensuring adherence to design specifications and building codes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the construction and development sector.
- Proven success in managing multiple construction projects simultaneously, preferably in the Wolverhampton area.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and relevant regulations.
- Strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes within the construction industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with construction project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and CAD viewers.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CIOB, RICS) are highly desirable.
