About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced
Project Manager - Infrastructure to oversee a range of critical IT infrastructure projects based in
Birmingham, West Midlands . This role offers a hybrid working model, combining essential on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants. The Project Manager will also define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved participants throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, and data center migrations.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying critical path activities and potential risks.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, adhering to quality standards.
- Manage project scope, changes, and dependencies effectively, communicating impact to stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide comprehensive reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, IT operations, and business units.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary hardware, software, and services for infrastructure projects.
- Ensure proper documentation is created and maintained for all project deliverables.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a Project Manager in the IT infrastructure domain.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with strong written and verbal capabilities.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Project and other project management software.
- Familiarity with infrastructure technologies such as networking, servers, storage, cloud computing (AWS/Azure).
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred.
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure rollouts and upgrades.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
