About the Role
Our client, a well-established technology solutions provider in
Bristol, South West England , is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Lead Project Manager - IT Solutions . This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring regular engagement in our Bristol office while offering flexibility for remote work. You will be responsible for leading a team of project managers and overseeing the delivery of a diverse range of IT solutions for our clients. This includes managing complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of various project management methodologies, and exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will play a crucial role in mentoring junior project managers, driving process improvements, and ensuring client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, overseeing their performance and professional development.
- Manage a portfolio of IT solutions projects, ensuring successful delivery against scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Develop and implement project management best practices and standards across the team and organisation.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and closing phases of complex IT projects.
- Act as a key point of contact for high-profile clients, managing relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating where necessary.
- Collaborate with sales, technical, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and methodologies.
- Monitor project financials, resource allocation, and overall project health, reporting to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and client-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of leading project teams and managing complex IT solutions projects.
- Strong understanding of various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Experience in stakeholder management, client relations, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
- Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior project managers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
