About the Role
Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Project Manager to oversee major construction projects in and around Birmingham, West Midlands, UK . This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in the construction industry, capable of managing large-scale developments from conception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor project teams, including site engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Procure necessary materials and equipment, negotiating favorable contracts.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects adhere to environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Lead Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, such as commercial buildings, infrastructure, or residential developments.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of project management software and construction planning tools.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
- Relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as MCIOB or PMP are highly advantageous.
- Must possess the right to work in the UK.
