About the Role
Our client, a prominent financial services firm located in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK , is seeking a skilled IT Project Manager with a strong background in infrastructure projects. This role is critical for overseeing the implementation and upgrade of key IT systems and infrastructure across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an on-site position, offering the chance to work within a robust and stable corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, and cloud migrations.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and execution.
- Oversee the procurement of hardware and software, and manage vendor contracts effectively.
- Implement and maintain robust risk management strategies for IT projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant IT security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and project sponsors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during project execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile).
- Experience with budget management and cost control for large-scale IT projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and best practices is advantageous.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
