About the Role
Our client, a cutting-edge software development firm located in Bristol, South West England, UK , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex software engineering initiatives. This role is crucial for driving the successful delivery of innovative software products and platforms. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining office-based collaboration with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business goals.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (scrum, stand-ups, retrospectives) and ensure adherence to agile best practices.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, designers, and QA teams.
- Proactively identify, track, and resolve project issues and roadblocks.
- Communicate project status, risks, and updates effectively to technical teams and senior leadership.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and technical leads.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality assurance processes, and deployment best practices.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Technical Project Manager or Software Development Manager.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex software development projects from inception to deployment.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various programming languages/frameworks.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum Master certification is a plus).
- Strong technical background and ability to engage with engineering teams on technical challenges.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
