About the Role
Our client, a well-established property development and management firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee significant capital projects in the **Bristol, South West England, UK** area. This role demands a strategic thinker with a robust background in managing large-scale construction and renovation projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while managing multiple stakeholders including contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of capital projects, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, scope documents, budgets, and schedules.
- Oversee contractor selection and management, ensuring compliance with contract terms and performance standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Ensure all projects adhere to strict health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Manage project finances, including cost forecasting, budget control, and invoice approval.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Conduct regular site visits and project review meetings.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as PMP, RICS, or MAPM are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on capital projects, construction, or property development.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with budgets exceeding £10 million.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building regulations, and contract law.
- Proven ability in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and CAD software familiarity is a plus.
- Experience working with public sector or commercial clients is advantageous.
