About the Role
Our client, a dynamic property development firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead challenging construction and development projects in the **Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK** area. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the development lifecycle, from initial site acquisition and design through to construction, completion, and handover. You will oversee project teams, manage external consultants and contractors, ensure budget adherence, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction project management, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. This is a key position to drive impactful development projects in a thriving urban area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of construction and development projects.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
- Develop comprehensive project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all building regulations, health & safety legislation, and planning approvals.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, local authorities, and community groups.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Prepare and present project reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Drive value engineering and ensure efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on development projects.
- Proven track record of managing diverse construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and UK building regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Reviz) is essential.
- Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, PMP, or PRINCE2 are highly advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience in the **Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK** region is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a hybrid model, balancing office and site-based activities.
