About the Role

This senior position requires a visionary leader with extensive expertise in managing large-scale construction projects from inception through to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end management of major construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor project teams, including site managers, engineers, architects, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
- Manage all project-related procurement, including tendering processes, contractor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective communication.
- Implement robust risk management procedures to identify potential issues and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, health and safety legislation, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project status reports to senior management and clients.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects valued at £5 million or more.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Professional accreditation such as MCIOB, RICS, or PMP is highly preferred.
- Experience with sustainable construction practices and modern building technologies.
