About the Role
Our client, a world-renowned research institution and technology developer, is seeking an innovative Project Manager to lead cutting-edge Research and Development projects in **Cambridge**. This role is crucial for driving scientific and technological advancements from conceptualization through to prototype development and potential commercialization. You will work with leading scientists, engineers, and technical experts, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of R&D projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies to prototype development and testing.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate the work of multidisciplinary research and engineering teams.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including technical challenges, resource constraints, and intellectual property considerations.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, academic partners, and potential commercial entities.
- Ensure projects align with strategic research objectives and funding requirements.
- Monitor project progress, manage dependencies, and provide regular status updates.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure compliance with relevant R&D standards.
- Foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and scientific rigor.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably within Research & Development, technology, or academic sectors.
- Strong understanding of R&D project lifecycles and methodologies.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in tackling complex technical challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- A degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline is essential; a Master’s or PhD is advantageous.
- Experience working in a **hybrid** model, balancing on-site and remote work.
- Familiarity with grant applications or funding management is a plus.
