About the Role
Our client is a dynamic and growing property development company with a strong presence in the
UK commercial sector. They are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a new, multi-use commercial development in
Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial design coordination through to final handover, ensuring successful completion within stringent quality, time, and budget parameters. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, and the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control all aspects of the construction project, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate and liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, implement, and monitor detailed project plans and construction schedules.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage contract administration, including tendering, negotiation, and contractor performance evaluation.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure high standards of quality control and assurance are maintained throughout the construction process.
- Manage project finances, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, preferably on commercial or mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations in the UK .
- Excellent knowledge of project management principles, contract management, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- SMSTS or similar health and safety qualification is advantageous.
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
- Experience working in Leeds or the wider Yorkshire region is a plus.
