About the Role

This is a critical, site-based role responsible for the end-to-end management of the construction process. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of construction project planning, execution, and closing.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial reporting accuracy.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Manage client relationships and stakeholder communications.
- Approve work carried out by subcontractors and manage payments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage variations accordingly.
Requirements
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction project management, with a significant portion spent in leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential and/or commercial construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent understanding of contract management (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Experience working in **Portsmouth** or the surrounding **Hampshire** area is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
