About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead exciting Research & Development initiatives within their innovation hub in Cambridge . This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing the complex lifecycle of R&D projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to prototype development and potential commercialization. You will foster a collaborative environment for scientists, engineers, and product developers, ensuring projects align with strategic objectives and technological advancements. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of R&D projects, ensuring alignment with scientific and business goals.
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for innovation projects.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, working closely with R&D teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among researchers, engineers, product managers, and external partners.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical feasibility, intellectual property, and market adoption challenges.
- Track and report on project progress, ensuring timely communication of key findings, challenges, and successes to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects, preferably within a Research & Development or innovation-focused setting.
- Strong understanding of scientific or technological research processes and product development lifecycles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies suitable for R&D environments.
