About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a specialization in construction projects to join their established team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is critical for managing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of significant construction initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry in the North East of England.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage and motivate site teams, subcontractors, and external consultants.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to ensure project milestones are met.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (8+ years) as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects in the Sunderland area.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and health and safety legislation.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as MCIOB or equivalent is preferred.
