About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Construction Project Manager to oversee building and infrastructure projects in the Sunderland area. This role requires a strategic thinker with a robust understanding of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and project financial management. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, managing all aspects from initial planning and procurement through to final handover. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed construction project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee all site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes.
- Procure and manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets specified standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional accreditation is advantageous.
- Significant experience (6+ years) as a Construction Project Manager or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building regulations.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in construction project management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid capacity, balancing site visits with office-based planning in Sunderland .
