About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development and execution of renewable energy projects, based in Bristol . This role is central to driving the company's expansion in the energy transition, managing projects from conception through to commissioning. You will oversee budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring successful delivery of complex renewable energy infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership capabilities, a proven track record in managing large-scale projects, and a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape, particularly in areas like solar, wind, or battery storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle management of renewable energy projects , from feasibility studies to commercial operation.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee procurement, contracting, and stakeholder management activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and HSE requirements .
- Manage cross-functional project teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management , with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS).
- Proven ability to manage budgets exceeding £50 million.
- Strong understanding of project finance and contract negotiation.
- Experience with PPA agreements and grid connection processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
