About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and highly organized Mining Project Manager to lead key development and operational projects in the Liverpool region. This role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and exceptional execution capabilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, control, and closure. This is a critical leadership position that will significantly influence the success and growth of our mining ventures, requiring extensive experience in managing complex mining initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, geologists, contractors, and administrative staff.
- Regularly report project progress, performance, and key issues to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mining, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the mining industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining projects from conception to completion.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, project finance, and contract management.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
