Overview As Senior Project Manager, you lead construction projects from inception to completion within a client‑facing team. You own multiple complex projects, coordinating clients, consultants and contractors to deliver high standards on time and to budget. You’ll develop and manage programmes, steer risk and change, and provide clear reporting while mentoring junior colleagues. This role sits at the heart of a growing Project Management team within a well‑established consultancy, offering meaningful impact on significant projects and client relationships. You’ll work with Associates and Directors on strategic commissions and have opportunity for progression toward Associate level.
Responsibilities - Lead the delivery of construction projects through the full lifecycle
- Manage multiple and complex projects and programmes
- Act as main client contact and coordinate with consultants and contractors
- Develop and manage project programmes
- Manage project risk, change, opportunities and issues
- Lead project and stakeholder meetings
- Provide clear and accurate project reporting
- Advise clients on procurement and contractual matters
- Prepare and evaluate tenders and support contractor/consultant selection
- Support contract administration across JCT and NEC contracts
- Lead and support risk and value management activities
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining delivery standards
- Support bids, tenders and broader business development
- Mentor and develop junior members of the Project Management team
- Collaborate with Associates and Directors on strategic and complex commissions
Key requirements - 5+ years' project management experience in construction
- Experience in a consultancy or client-side PM environment
- Track record delivering projects through full lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of construction and project delivery processes
- Experience with JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Knowledge of procurement, programming, change control, risk and value management
- Experience managing multiple/complex projects
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence to lead meetings and advise clients
- Experience mentoring or managing junior colleagues
- Relevant degree preferred, with MAPM/MRICS/PRINCE2 or equivalent beneficial
