About the Role
Our client, a highly reputable construction firm specializing in large-scale residential developments, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee new build projects in the
Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK region. This is a pivotal role responsible for the end-to-end management of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead and motivate site teams, manage subcontractors, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to. Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and successful completion of new build residential construction projects.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget control.
- Oversee all site operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labour to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor project performance.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective solutions to overcome challenges.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available.
- Promote a strong safety culture on site and ensure all site personnel are adequately trained and equipped.
Requirements
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale residential construction projects from start to finish.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and standard construction IT tools.
- Hold relevant site safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS).
- Ability to manage budgets effectively and control project costs.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with the local building regulations and supply chain in the Newcastle upon Tyne area is an advantage.
