About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead diverse building projects in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This role involves overseeing projects from inception through to completion, managing budgets, schedules, and all site operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within financial parameters, while maintaining the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of all facets of the construction lifecycle, working collaboratively with design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of architects, engineers, subcontractors, and site staff to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and quality control procedures on site.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and addressing concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Construction Project Manager role.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of building regulations , construction techniques, and project management software.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications.
